Lauren is passionate about making engineering accessible. Lauren has a B.S. and PhD in mechanical engineering from Colorado School of Mines, and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. She spent years developing algorithms and models to study prosthetic functionality in running, with the ultimate goal of improving insurance coverage for amputee athletes. Lauren transitioned from research to the development of athletic footwear for improved performance before taking over as practice and lab manager of Modern Mint Dental Care with her husband, Dr. Phil. Together, the Drs. Henzlik have made significant efforts and headway in developing techniques to design and manufacture dental prostheses, such as crowns, nightguards, and other 3D printed and milled items, in their office to improve the patient experience and clinical outcome.
In her free time, Lauren loves to spend her days outside mountain biking, running, or skiing with her husband, Dr. Phil, and their baby boy.
